MGT 228 SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT 3 CREDIT HOURS


COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Attention is focused upon the proper procedures for developing and operating a profitable small business, both internet and brick and mortar. Students will be introduced to the types of decisions faced by entrepreneurs and managers in on-ongoing firms, and the application of professional business disciopline.

COURSE OBJCTIVES:

To introduce students to the nature of small business and assess their likelihood of being a successful entrepreneur.
To develop a framework for managing a small business, building on natural strengths, and overcoming inherent weaknesses.
To apply the various business disciplines of accounting, economics, finance, marketing, and management in the context of small business enterprise.
To examine succession planning or other exit strategy options (for both successful and failing businesses) and to identify outside resource to grow your business.
To show students how to develop a profitable business plan.
